Rumor: Oscar Isaac Met About An Unspecified Role in The Batman

Though updates for the film have been scarce, there have been little trickles of info here and there about Matt Reeves' solo Batman movie. The latest rumor suggests that Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) has been approached for an undisclosed role.

According to GWW, the film is said to be looking for an A-list actor to play the villain, and that villain is none other than Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. The Penguin. While Isaac has recently been cast as a hero in Star Wars, it's no mystery that he can play the antagonist as well. He brought doom to the X-Men as Apocalypse, and he was also a creepy CEO to General Hux (Domnhall Gleeson) in Ex Machina.

When it comes to a character like Penguin, I was thinking they would cast someone middle aged who could pull off ominous and creepy. Probably the top of my cast list is American Gods' Ian McShane, but I would be fine if they also found a cool way to reinvent the character. No one thought Robin Taylor looked like the traditional Penguin at all, but a lot of people came to love his portrayal of Cobblepot in Gotham.

Will Isaac be the Penguin? Or will he be playing someone else? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The Batman has no official release date as of now.
