Michael Bay is currently collaborating with Ryan Reynolds on a movie called Six Underground, but rumor has recently come out that the film they're working on is actually a Thundercats movie.
The news comes from IGN Middle East who says that a source close to the film confirms that Bay and Reynolds are actually working on a Thundercats movie, and the Six Underground title is just made up to avoid any unnecessary leaks.
Of course, everyone should take this rumor with a grain of salt, but the same source was said to have confirmed that Simon Pegg was in The Force Awakens way before it was announced. It also helps add fuel to the rumor that Bay had been attached to the Thundercats remake since 2012.
Bay has been responsible for a lot of reboots for 80s material including Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so something like Thundercats doesn't seem to be too far from his list of projects. Then again, the Thundercats title is so huge that I can't imagine they would just start work on it without any official announcements.
Is Six Underground secretly a Thundercats movie? I guess only time will tell.
If you want to get in on some Thundercats though, Cartoon Network is planning a comedy reboot of the show called Thundercats Roar, and it's set to come out sometime in 2019.
