Rumor: Helena Bonham Carter to be Villain for Bond 25

Bond 25 is now moving forward with Danny Boyle as the director, and news has it that the movie is eyeing a woman to be the villain this time around.

According to The Mirror, Boyle's top pick to play the villain is one Helena Bonham Carter. Carter is best known for playing dark gothic women in Tim Burton movies, but probably her most famous villain role would be Bellatrix Lestrange from the Harry Potter franchise.

It's also been said that Angelina Jolie is a top choice to take on the role, but Boyle's personal preference is said to be Carter. Of course, this is all just a rumor for now, so we should just wait for MGM to make an official statement soon.

With Cristoph Waltz failing to dazzle audiences with his Blofeld in Spectre, a female villain for Bond might actually be a refreshing take onscreen. But seeing that they tried so hard to build up to Blofeld, I think it would be a waste not to have him return complete with bald head and furry cat.

Besides Daniel Craig, we still have no confirmation that other actors such as Ben Wishshaw (Q), Ralph Fiennes (M), and Naomi Harris (Moneypenny) could return; but it's definitely likely.

Bond 25 is set for a release on Nov. 8, 2019.
