Robert Pattinson and William Dafoe Go Crazy in Latest Trailer for The Lighthouse

Before he dons the cowl of the Batman, Robert Pattinson is set to appear in Robert Eggers' The Lighthouse which is set to come out this October. A24 has released a new trailer for the movie, and though it doesn't give us much on plot, it does hint at how dark and weird the movie is going to be.

Here's the short synopsis:

Two lighthouse keepers try to maintain their sanity while living on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s.

After films like Misdommar, it seems that there is some kind of resurgence with ‘experimental' horror movies, which looks to be the tone that The Lighthouse is going for. Besides the period setting, the film also has the black and white look and square aspect ratio that makes it feel like a film that was made in the early 1900s. It would be fun if even the special effects were old-timey as well, but that's just my opinion.

Moving on from Twilight, Pattinson looks to be trying his best to try and rebrand himself as more than just a YA heartthrob. Besides this movie, he's also set to play one of the leads in Christopher Nolan's Tenet, after that he's off to work with Matt Reeves as the new, younger Bruce Wayne in The Batman.

Catch Robert Eggers' The Lighthouse when it hits theaters this coming Oct. 18.
