The future of TV has definitely gone to streaming, with services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. What's interesting is, one service promises to focus on giving subscribers a platform to watch all the classic anime from the 70s to the 90s for free.

According to IGN, RetroCrush will be a service where fans can check out titles from the ‘Golden Age of Anime'. Like I said earlier, the service will be available for free, but that means it will be coming with ads. The app will be available for iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and Smart TVs, and will also be accessible through a desktop site at https://www.retrocrush.tv/

CEO of Digital Media Rights David Chu also had this to say about RetroCrush:

"Via our distribution partnerships, we are able to provide classic anime fans with a vast library of the best series and films available in the world today… The launch of RetroCrush further cements our company's leadership position in the classic anime genre."

While we should expect the library to grow over time, some available titles on the platform now include Devil Lad, Creamy Mami, Machic Emi, the Magical Star, Persia, the Magical Fairy, Cybersix, Urusei Yatsura, and Black Jack: The Movie.

With other services looking to preserve and give access to classic movies, I think it's a great idea to have the same thing done for classic anime. Hopefully, this will lead to a whole new appreciation of the medium, where anime fans can have a look at what's come before it.

RetroCrush is now available for iOS, Android, Roku, and other platforms.
