Ray Park 'Worked His Butt Off' for His Maul Appearance in Solo: A Star Wars Story

Ray Park surprised everyone when he made an appearance as Maul in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Though the appearance was more a cameo, Park reveals that he had done some serious training just for his small appearance.

He made this post on Instagram after some fans apparently called him out for being ‘out of shape' in the film:

If Maul can be known for anything, it's that the character is very physical. He didn't have to say much in The Phantom Menace, but he definitely stole the show when it came to his dual-ended lightsaber. If you may think his look is a bit off in Solo, it's worth noting that Maul has significantly aged since the time we met him in Episode I.

It's kind of a bummer that Solo didn't make that much in the box office, but a lot of fans agree that it wasn't due to the quality of the movie. A lot of people are still crossing their fingers that we get to see more of the universe other than the fight between the Rebellion and the Empire, and hopefully we'll get to see Maul make a fantastic comeback as a main character onscreen.

I'm also hoping we get to see more of Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo; his casting was just perfect.

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits digital Sept. 14.
