R2-D2 has Finished Shooting Star Wars Episode IX

While everyone is waiting on Lucasfilm to make some big reveal for Star Wars Episode IX, the actors have been slowly wrapping their work on the movie. Anthony Daniels had announced that he's finished shooting the movie, and now it's R2's turn to wrap production.

This was posted by puppeteer Jimmy Vee who took over for Kenny Baker in Star Wars: The Last Jedi after he died:

We don't really know how much involvement R2 has in the next film, but even though he had a small part in TLJ, he still had a lot of important stuff to do. For one, he was necessary for helping push Luke to help Rey with Leia's old transmission, and he also helped find the remaining Resistance members by tracking the homing beacon.

Since R2 was present during the fall of Luke's new Jedi order, I'm guessing R2 will have some reveals up his sleeve. Quite honestly, some people actually just want to see more of him and 3PO actually reunited in the sequel trilogy. After we find out that R2 had been in ‘low power' mode since Luke has been missing, we haven't really had a moment between the two droids other than 3PO smacking him on the head.

Maybe R2 will assist another X-Wing pilot again? Do you think Finn will be a pilot this time? How about Rose?
