Pixar Short Lamp Life Teases Bo Peep’s Life before Toy Story 4

Though Bo Peep was missing in Toy Story 3, she came back to the fold with the fourth (and possibly final) Toy Story movie. What's interesting is, Pixar is going to release a new short starring Bo Peep called Lamp Life, and it shows us Bo's life before Woody ran into her in the film.

We don't have an official synopsis for the short, but we do have the short tagline: Expect an unexpected journey. Just by looking at the trailer, we see how Bo loses her Bonnet, and watch the different places she ended up in before she got to the pawn shop.

Though Bo was a pretty one-dimensional character in the Toy Story films, I really love how they decided to give her more character when it came to the fourth movie. From being a supporting character, she's come out to be tough as nails, and is even the driving force behind Woody finally looking for something else to do with his life.

Personally, I still believe that the entire Toy Story franchise ends with three movies, and the fourth being an epilogue of sorts. Based on what the three movies were originally about, I just thought that TS4 kind of threw the main theme out the window. I mean, Woody's entire arc was about him finding meaning in being a toy, and suddenly he just wants to leave? I mean, it's a good metaphor for parenthood, but like I said, it doesn't keep to the main point of the first three films.

Either way, you can catch Lamp Life when it comes to Disney+ on Jan. 31.
