New Trailer for Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween

2015's Goosebumps was actually a modest hit when it came out and earned back more than twice its budget. Now the sequel is set to come out later this year, and they've dropped a new trailer.

Sad to say, it doesn't look like anyone from the first film is making a comeback, particularly Jack Black who played R.L. Stine himself. It looks like Stine will abandon his old home in this story, and two kids end up finding a hidden book that was hidden away from the collection in the first film.

Besides Slappy the Dummy, probably the most recognizable face in the trailer is Jeremy Ray Taylor who played Ben in last year's IT reboot. His co-star is Caleel Harris who has starred in Castle Rock. The rest of the cast includes the likes of Chris Parnell, Ken Jeong, Wendi McLendon-Covery, and Madison Iseman.

Oddly enough, the movie also doesn't bring back anyone from the first film. Goosebumps 2 will bring in director Ari Sendel (The Duff, When We First Met) with a script from Rod Lieber.

Honestly, I can't tell how this movie will fare once it comes out. After all, it doesn't even feature the big names that were in the original film. At best, it will be a fun Halloween romp that you can take the kids too without scaring them too hard.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween comes out Oct. 12.
