Empire had just recently given us some new scoops on the upcoming Joker film, and now we have anew still of Robert De Niro's character Murray Franklin coming face to face with Joaquin Phoenix's Clown Prince of Crime.

If anything, De Niro's character is kind of a nod to Martin Scorsese's film The King of Comedy. In that film, De Niro plays a disturbed wannabe comedian who goes to disturbingly crazy lengths for his chance in the spotlight. However, it looks like the roles are now reversed, and De Niro is playing the established host and Phoenix is now the lunatic.

I suggest you actually check that film out before Joker, so you'll have a nice feel of what we could expect from this upcoming movie.

With all these photo-reveals, I can't help but feel we're going to be getting a new trailer soon. The movie is set to come out in October, and though there won't be a DC panel at Hall H, it's very likely a new trailer is going to be dropped online anyway. I also expect some looks at Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 1984 as well.

Failed comedian Arthur Fleck encounters violent thugs while wandering the streets of Gotham City dressed as a clown. Disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow dissent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.

Joker is set to hit theaters Oct. 4.
