We know you're ready! The worldwide launch of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite begins this Friday, June 21 in the US and UK! Keep an eye out for more information as the game goes live in your region soon.
Niantic found massive success with their launch of Pokemon GO, and now they're digging their hands into the Wizarding World with Harry Potter: Wizard's Unite. Just in, a new cinematic trailer has been released for the game to hype up the release this coming Friday.
In the game, players are supposedly recruited as members of the "Statute of Secrecy Task Force" and they will have to walk around trying to keep elements of the Wizarding World in check. Besides running into Death Eaters and Dementors, players will also have to deal with random magical creatures.
I am curious though with the tease that Harry Potter himself is in the game. If we can run into random baddies, can we also meet random characters from the game like any of the Weasleys or Hermione? I am kind of disappointed that they didn't get Daniel Radcliffe to cameo for this trailer. I guess he's already trying his best to put the franchise behind him and a reprisal of the role is the last thing on his mind.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald may have been a dud, but there are many other ways to enjoy the Wizarding World outside of the movies. After the success of Pokemon GO, I'm curious how Wizard's Unite is going to turn out.
