As teased yesterday, NetherRealm has dropped the gameplay trailer for the upcoming DLC character Joker. What's interesting is, besides a look at the Clown Prince of Crime, we also have alternate DC-based skins for other characters.
Compared to Joker from the last Injustice game, it looks like this version of the character has a completely different play style. Sure he still makes use of silly gadgets, but this time he's able to summon henchmen and actually attack with them. It also looks like his main weapon for this game is going to be a cane—the last one had him prominently using a knife.
As for alternate skins, we have a Batman Who Laughs skin for Noob Saibot, a Killer Croc Skin for Baraka, a Catwoman skin for Kitana, and a Darkseid skin for Geras. Besides these skins, the game already has a Harley Quinn skin available for Cassie Cage.
With Injustice usually being the "PG" version of NetherRealm's fighting games, it's interesting to see the Joker go all out with the violence when it comes to Mortal Kombat. Come to think of it, he's probably the only character in Injustice who can pull off these wacky fatalities and still be in character; I mean, even the heroes of this franchise can turn out pretty sadistic—but that's all part of the fun.
The Joker DLC arrives on Jan. 28. Mortal Kombat 11 is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
