Star Wars Episode IX is currently undergoing production, and with the release date more than a year away, it would be a while before we get any special reveals for the film. So far, everyone has just been waiting on set photos from third parties, and it looks like someone stumbled onto a film set in Wadi Rum.

Besides the very Star Wars-esque machinery going around, there seem to be cutouts of aliens to stand-in for actual extras when the movie starts filming. We don't really know what location this is supposed to be, but I won't be surprised if we would be finding a return to the desert planet of Jakku.

Though I'm already pleased with The Last Jedi's explanation of Rey's origin, I wouldn't be opposed to the character coming back to Jakku and finding out the truth for herself. Then again, this could be a completely different location, and the production could be aiming for a nighttime shoot. After all, Wadi Rum is also known as the Valley of the Moon.

For now, Lucasfilm has decided to put all their energy on the release of the finale to the sequel trilogy. Though I would prefer to get more news on spinoffs like the Kenobi movie, I think it's fine that they're taking things a lot slowly. After all, there's also that Mandalorian show from Jon Favreau that everyone is getting excited about.

Catch Star Wars Episode IX in theaters Dec. 20, 2019.
