Monarch Website Says Godzilla Just Reached Skull Island

Godzilla: King of Monsters may be coming out next year, but the big team-up will supposedly be the third movie in line Godzilla vs. Kong. The franchise has made this viral website to track the fictional location of the Kaiju, and it looks like Godzilla is paying Kong a little visit.

It says here that Godzilla has just landed on a Monarch outpost in the Pacific Ocean, most likely the location of Skull Island.

Though we did meet Godzilla back in the 2014 movie, we just learned about Monarch when Kong: Skull Island hit theaters last year. No doubt they will be a more major presence when it comes to King of Monsters; after all, they're the ones with the tech to find other giant monsters like Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah.

Admittedly, the franchise did see a stumble when Godzilla first came out, but Kong: Skull Island was met with a much better reception and is gearing people up to watch classic movie monsters rendered with modern technology. No one really wanted to see Godzilla fight new monsters like the MUTO, but people will be lining up to watch him clash with titans like Mothra and the three-headed dragon Ghidorah.

Here's the synopsis for Godzilla: King of Monsters:

Members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When this ancient super-species-thought to be mere myths-rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.

Catch Godzilla: King of Monsters when it hits theaters May 31, 2019. Godzilla vs. Kong is aiming for a 2020 release.
