After Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, the show is ready to come back in full form this June. Just in, we have the first trailer for Black Mirror 5, and it shows off some celebrities from Miley Cyrus to the MCU’s Anthony Mackie.
We don’t really have a synopsis on what stories to expect this season, but the official description seems to confirm that we’re only getting three new episodes. The first episode will be Striking Vipers starring Mackie and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, next is Smithereens starring Andrew Scott (Sherlock). No name has been listed for the final episode, but this will be the one starring Cyrus.
If you’ve watched enough Black Mirror, you’ll know that the main show revolves around the tragedy of technology—at least that spoke true for the earlier episodes of the series. Come the newer seasons, we’ve actually been having some more positive endings. I mean, some of the situations can get pretty horrific, but at least we know the good guys win in the end.
Who knows, maybe the next season will follow this more positive outlook, but maybe the show is ready to go back to its more tragic roots?
After the return of the Twilight Zone, I’m sure a lot of fans want to come back to the show that made anthology series a thing again.
