Yesterday saw the first teaser image for Space Jam 2 and the movie is set to have LeBron James star alongside our favorite Looney Tunes. Michael Jordan was the star of the original film and, as it turns out, the movie is trying to get him involved in some way.

It's worth noting that he mentions that though this movie is going to be part of the Space Jam franchise, it's not considered a sequel. Sounds to me like this movie is going to be a full-on reboot; I honestly don't know any other way around it.
Space Jam stands in a very unique place in pop-culture. Sure it blew everyone's minds in the 90s, but revisiting it today will make you realize so much of the horrible acting from Jordan as well as the blatant product placement surrounding the movie. At least the soundtrack is still fantastic.
We don't really know what to expect from Space Jam 2 with LeBron onboard, but I'm guessing it's going to be in the same vein as the original story where a well-known athlete (who is played by the actual person) is whisked away on some basketball-centric adventure by everyone's favorite Looney Tunes.
Up-and-comer Terence Nance is set to helm the movie, and other NBA stars besides James are also expected to make an appearance—just like the first Space Jam!
No release date has been set for Space Jam 2, but I'm guessing that the movie might come out sometime in 2020.
