Michael B. Jordan on Killmonger's Outfit Looking Like Vegeta's

Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger has come out to be one of the most celebrated villains in the MCU, but it has been an ongoing meme that his heist outfit is reminiscent of Vegeta's Saiyan outfit from Dragon Ball Z.

Talking to IGN, Jordan talks a bit about his thought on whether the Killmonger costume was actually inspired by Vegeta. Jordan comments:

"Maybe, I'm not sure. Honestly, I really don't know. It wasn't something that [director] Ryan [Coogler] and I discussed when we were trying to figure out what it looked like, but I think he always had a battle vest on, we always had that in mind. Probably Ryan likes anime too, so maybe."

When it comes down to the costume, I guess it would really be up to the concept artist to confirm whether Killmonger had been inspired by Vegeta in any way. Unless someone owns up to it online, all we fans can do is just speculate.

Despite playing badass characters onscreen, Jordan himself has admitted to being a fan of anime, and one particular series that he's fond of is Naruto. We don't really know what that has to do with his career moving forward, but I guess comic book fans just like knowing that the people who make their movies are also into comic books or other kinds of geek culture themselves.

For now, it looks like Jordan is done with the MCU, but his recent follow-up to Creed is making a splash at the box office. If Ralph Breaks the Internet isn't really you're cup of tea, maybe you can check out Jordan as Adonis Johnson in Creed II, now in theaters.
