Matt Reeves' The Batman Could Come Out in 2021 or 2022

If there's one movie that seems to be taking forever to get off the ground, it's Matt Reeves' The Batman. Rumors have been going around that the film is set to start production later this year, but it looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer for the movie to hit theaters.

According to Forbes, The Batman is aiming for a release on the summer of 2021, but it's still possible that the movie could be pushed to 2022. The movie is aiming for a start date later this year, but if push comes to shove, production could start early 2020.

I'm sure this is going to be a bummer for some Batman fans, but it's said that the wait for this film is taking so long because WB wants to get the movie done right. After two DCEU appearances, a lot of people have agreed that Batman has not been getting the right treatment that he deserves.

If anything, a lot of fans are still very eager to see Ben Affleck return as Batman. Though the movies he's been in have been lackluster, a lot of people agree that Affleck's portrayal is the closest we've ever gotten to a comic-accurate Caped Crusader. It's just a matter of putting him in the right movie.

A lot of rumors have been going around that this movie will be a prequel, and quite honestly, I just want to see the DCEU move forward. No offense to Wonder Woman 1984, but do we really need another film set in the past? Everyone already knows that Diana will make it out of that movie alive.

The Batman could potentially release in 2021.
