Matt Reeves' New Draft of The Batman Said to Have Added More 'Spectacle'

It seemed that Matt Reeves The Batman was finally getting underway after news came out that the script was done, but we have to wait until November before the movie actually starts filming. As it turns out, Reeves' latest edit of the script had something to do with adding more ‘spectacle' to the film.

For a while, people were thinking that Reeves' Batman was going to be more of a psychological thriller in the same vein as Zodiac or Se7en, but it looks like WB wants Reeves to up the ante with his solo film. According to Revenge of the Fans, Reeves has amped up the ‘explosiveness' of his Batman movie. We don't really know the reason for this, but it's possible that WB had raised the budget for the film seeing as how well Aquaman performed in theaters.

As of now, it's said that WB is taking their time with The Batman, and are making sure that Reeves does the movie right. The Dark Knight is probably one of the most celebrated comic book films of all time, and after the missteps of Batman v Superman and Justice League, it would make sense that the studio wants to be careful in handling one of the biggest superheroes in pop culture.

Though I was hoping that we could get a ‘day in the life' film for The Batman, I guess a bigger movie is fine too. After all this waiting I'm just happy to see Batman on the big screen again. At this point, I don't even care if he's Ben Affleck or not.

No release date has been set for Matt Reeves' The Batman.
