Mary Poppins Returns: BTS Featurette Explores ‘Trip a Little Light Fantastic’ Number

We may not be getting a Star Wars film this holiday season, but Disney is planning to bring their A-game with the release of Mary Poppins Returns. The film has a lot of big musical dance numbers, and a new featurette explores the modern Step In Time—Trip a Little Light Fantastic.

Just in case you're curious, here's the full song:

While the first Mary Poppins movie already pushed the genre on its own, I think it's pretty great that they decided to up the ante when it came to the sequel. Not only is the play on lights and choreography amazing, but the film also hired expert BMX bikers to perform stunts during the dance number.

For now, Mary Poppins Returns has admittedly found a hard time trying to trump Aquaman in the box office. The movie has been getting some splendid reviews though, and it may not be too long before a sequel is announced. Emily Blunt already expressed her interest in reprising the character, so do with that what you will.

Now an adult with three children, bank teller Michael Banks learns that his house will be repossessed in five days unless he can pay back a loan. His only hope is to find a missing certificate that shows proof of valuable shares that his father left him years earlier. Just as all seems lost, Michael and his sister receive the surprise of a lifetime when Mary Poppins -- the beloved nanny from their childhood -- arrives to save the day and take the Banks family on a magical, fun-filled adventure.

Mary Poppins Returns is currently out in theaters.
