Disney+ launches today, and we just got a special look at the upcoming animated anthology series from Marvel Studios, What If…? via the show Expanding the Universe. We have new images and clips of Captain Britain Peggy Carter, Star-Lord T’Challa, and zombie Captain America.

Check them out:

With Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse slowly introducing general audiences to the concept of a multi-verse, I’m excited to see what kind of stories What If…? is going to tell. The best one we know so far is the one about Peggy Carter becoming a super-soldier with Steve Rogers becoming Iron Man, but I’m curious about that zombie scene with Bucky as well as how T’Challa became Star-Lord.

While the animation style seems good enough, I’m kind of hoping that they be more experimental with the other episodes. I mean, this is Disney+ after all, so I would hope they a budget to pull off some kind of Love, Death & Robots kind of situation.

We don’t have a look at other episodes, but it’s said that the show will attempt to tackle every Marvel film that was part of the Infinity Saga. I’m curious about what other kinds of stories they can come up with. Do you think they’ll ever make an episode that reveals what would happen if Hawkeye died instead on Vormir? What if they did it so that Iron Man didn’t die at the end of Endgame?

For now, Marvel’s What If…? is set to come out in the summer of 2021. Disney+ is now available.
