Marvel’s The Avengers: A-Day Voice Cast is Filled with A-List Voice Actors

Though Square Enix's Avengers game may not be using the models of the actors from the films, they've decided to compensate by casting some of the most popular names in video game voice acting.

According to Gamespot, A-Day has cast Troy Baker (Bioshock: Infinite) as Bruce Banner, Laura Bailey (Spider-Man PS4) as Black Widow, Nolan North (Uncharted) as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Travis Willingham (Spider-Man PS4) as Thor, and Jeff Schine (Mafia III) as Captain America.

Some of these actors have also had experience voicing Marvel characters before. Bailey had also voiced Widow for the Avengers animated series, and Willingham has also reprised Thor for a number of roles. They also provided the voices for Mary Jane Watson and Wilson Fisk in the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man, respectively.

Though it's a bummer that we won't get something close to the canon of the MCU (like with the Star Wars games do), I'm sure this new direction for the Avengers could lead to some interesting story arcs. I am bummed that we don't get Hawkeye in the team, but I guess it's complicated enough to give us four playable characters for one sprawling, massive story.

"Marvel's Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth's Mightiest Heroes."

Marvel's The Avengers: A-Day comes out May 15, 2020.
