Marvel's Kevin Feige Teases the Roster for the New Avengers

Marvel had just held a phenomenal Phase 4 panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, and everyone is already waiting on when the next Avengers team-up will be. As it turns out, Marvel Studios already has a plan for who is going to be in the roster, and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige gives us a little tease.

When asked by MTV News about the next Avengers team-up, Feige replied:

"It will be a very different team than we've seen before. That's what Endgame was all about. It will be a very different incarnation of the team with some people you've already met and some people you haven't met yet."

For now, we know that the surviving Avengers from pre-Endgame are Falcon, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, War Machine, Hawkeye, Thor, and the Hulk. We know there are also other characters like Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel but I think it's important to stick to the core team to keep things simpler.

While it would be nice to see an appearance from all of them, I can imagine this new roster is still going to be kept small. Though I would love to see the new heroes, I would also like some of the older members to be present to "pass the torch." If anything, they can just have Bruce Banner be the "guy in the chair" and I would be happy with that. Of course, we need Sam Wilson's Falcon as the new Captain America as well. I don't know what they plan to do with Bucky.

After Endgame, I'm not really expecting the next Avengers to suddenly try and top it. At best, it should just introduce us to these new characters as a team, and start another build-up to the next big bad—all culminating in another massive team-up that spans everyone under the Marvel banner.

We don't know when the next Avengers film will come out, but the first Phase 4 film is Black Widow, and it hits theaters May 1, 2020.
