Marvel Studios Allegedly Developing a Ghost Rider Project

Ever since the Disney/Fox merger, Marvel Studios has found themselves in possession of several characters they didn't own. A lot of projects have been in development, and now it looks like we could get a movie/series based on one Marvel Knight.

As per insider Daniel Richtman (via The Direct), Marvel Studios is currently working on a Ghost Rider project. We don't know if this will be a series or a film, but it's confirmed that this will not be based on Gabriel Luna's Robbie Reyes from Agents of SHIELD.

If anything, Ghost Rider is one property in the handful of projects that are said to be in development at Marvel. Other projects that have been announced include Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk, not to mention rumored projects like Thunderbolts and The Young Avengers. Do I even have to mention X-men and The Fantastic Four?

With Ghost Rider being able to sell his own movie, I think Marvel would want to bring this property to theaters. After all, I think the VFX required would need to have a budget of a blockbuster film. While I thought Luna did fine as his own Ghost Rider, I thought that it was annoying that we could only see his version for a limited time thanks to the budget of a TV show.

We don't know when this Ghost Rider project is set to come out, but I imagine it's not a very high priority for Marvel right now. If anything, I think the demand for Daredevil is more pressing.

Marvel Phase 4 kicks off with Black Widow on Nov. 6.
