Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson Join Cast of Netflix's The Last Kids on Earth

Mark Hamill may have made a triumphant return onscreen with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but he's still taking on voiceover work. Just in, he's been cast (alongside a bunch of other actors) in Netflix's adaptation of the book The Last Kids on Earth.

According to The Wrap, Hamill is joined by the likes of Rosario Dawson (Marvel Netflix) and Catherine O'Hara (Schitt's Creek). Other actors included in the show are Keith David, Bruce Campbell, and Monste Hernandez. The lead character of Jack Sullivan is also voiced by Nick Wolfhard (who is the brother of Finn Wolfhard, Mike from Stranger Things).

Here's the official logline of The Last Kids on Earth:

"The Last Kids on Earth" follows 13-year-old Jack Sullivan and a band of suburban middle schoolers who live in a decked-out tree house, play video games, gorge themselves on candy, and battle zombies in the aftermath of the monster apocalypse.

The original books were written by Max Brailler who is also attached as the executive producer of the show. The show will also be produced by Atomic Cartoons, who has handled shows like Atomic Betty, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Spider-Man Unlimited, and Johnny Test.

We don't have an official look at the series yet, but the poster admittedly looks bleak. If the cover art for the book is any indicator, I think we're in for a family-friendly adventure series.

The show is set to debut sometime later this year on Netflix.
