Loki Series has Resumed Production

COVID-19 had put a stop to a lot of productions, and cast and crews were told to go home to wait until the pandemic blew over. With production slowly getting back on track for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, it looks like one other Marvel show has started rolling cameras as well.

Talking to Forbes, Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Beauty and the Beast) has confirmed that Loki has started shooting again. She says:

"I'm obviously sworn to secrecy about everything to do with Loki, but it feels great to be back. Everyone is trying to do it as safely as possible under the circumstances, and it feels good. I'm excited. It's a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see it."

We have no idea who Mbatha-Raw is playing yet, but she has confirmed that she has been hard at work preparing for her MCU role. She says, "I'd already watched a lot of them. I got Disney+ when I got the job, so I binged a lot of it then."

We don't have an official plot for the Loki series yet, but from what we can piece together online, the show will have something to do with time travel and Loki just messing with history. With the "main" Loki having died in Avengers: Infinity War, it's said this show will focus on the Loki that escapes with the Tesseract in Endgame. While the Loki that died had already gone through his character arc, it's going to be interesting to go back to full villain Loki who had just suffered a defeat from the Avengers for the first time.

No release date has been set for Loki, but the show is expected to debut on Disney+ in the spring of 2021.
