Lena Headey, Sigourney Weaver, and More Join Netflix's Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

If you've been reading up on Netflix's upcoming prequel series, Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, you'll know that the series has a star-studded cast from actors like Mark Hamill and Eddie Izzard, to the likes of Taron Egerton, Natalie Dormer, and Mark Strong. What's interesting is, the cast continues to grow, and it's starting to sound like every extra in the movie is going to be voiced by a celebrity.

According to Geek Vibes Nation, the cast now includes the likes of Lena Headey, Sigourney Weaver, Awkwafina, Benedict Wong, and Hannah John-Kamen. Dave Goelz, who has also been doing the voice of Gonzo for The Muppets has also been cast in a role.

As for the three Gelfling leads, they will be voiced by Taron Egerton (Kingsman), Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones), and Anya Taylor-Joy (Glass). Other celebrities that have been previously announced are Alicia Vikander, Natalie Dormer, Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Helena Bonham Carter, and much much more.

I don't know how Dark Crystal managed to nab all these big names, but hopefully, each of them will be voicing a relevant character in the series. It would be weird if they would credit someone and have them just speak one sentence in the whole series.

The world of Thra is dying. The Crystal of Truth is at the heart of Thra, a source of untold power. But it is damaged, corrupted by the evil Skeksis, and a sickness spreads across the land. When three Gelfling uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis, an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins.

Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is set to premiere on Netflix on Aug. 30.
