Kristen Stewart Was Told to Hide Her Sexuality in Hopes to ‘Get a Marvel Movie’

Twilight star Robert Pattinson is currently in line to be the next Batman, but everyone is wondering what's happening with his co-star Kristen Stewart. Though she's set to make a comeback to blockbusters with the Charlie's Angels reboot, Stewart shares that she could have landed a Marvel film under one condition.

Talking to Harper's Bazaar, Stewart shared, "I have fully been told, 'If you just like do yourself a favor, and don't go out holding your girlfriend's hand in public, you might get a Marvel movie… I don't want to work with people like that."

We don't know how long ago this, was, but it's likely that Marvel (and a lot of mainstream studios) have changed their tune when it comes to being conservative. Marvel has already introduced us to their first gay superhero with Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie (Thor: Ragnarok), and we're also set to have our first openly gay hero in the upcoming Eternals.

Is there a role for Stewart down the line? We don't really know, but with the MCU continuously growing, it's likely she could fall under the studio's radar once again.

While she was one of the biggest box office stars with the Twilight saga, Stewart, much like her co-star Pattinson, has been doing a lot more experimental projects. We don't know what she's going to do next, but I'm very interested to see where she goes moving forward.

In Banks' bold vision, Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska are working for the mysterious Charles Townsend, whose security and the investigative agency has expanded internationally. With the world's smartest, bravest, and most highly trained women all over the globe, there are now teams of Angels guided by multiple Bosleys taking on the toughest jobs everywhere.

Catch Stewart in Charlie's Angels when it comes out Nov. 15.
