Kingpin Actor Vincent D’Onofrio Shares Petition to #SaveDaredevil

A lot of Marvel fans are excited to see the rights of Daredevil come back to Marvel this month, and while a full reboot does seem on the table, some fans want the return of the main cast of the Netflix series including Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio. With the moratorium about to expire, D'Onofrio himself has shared a petition to save Netflix's Daredevil.

Here's his post:

While it's likely that Daredevil won't be coming back to Netflix, the petition is asking Disney to keep the format of the show as is. It reads:

Our wishes are that Marvel Television, and its parent company Disney, reach a deal with Netflix that allows the show, in its current format and with its current cast and crew, to continue on a different platform as soon as possible.

According to the scant information available, the characters from Daredevil and the other Netflix shows are barred from use elsewhere for a time period of two years post-cancellation. Ideally, a deal can be made that allows Disney to take over the streaming rights of existing season and continue production uninterrupted.

As of now, the show has already earned more than 370,000 signatures, but even if they get to a million, there really is no guarantee.

While the show gets a lot of praise, I think it would benefit Marvel to just do a soft reboot of Daredevil. They can keep the main cast, but they don't necessarily have to adhere to the events that happened on the Netflix show. The continuity of Marvel-Netflix is already pretty messed up, so maybe with some Multiverse magic from Doctor Strange, we can get the same characters back, without the crutch of having to keep to the story of the original show.

That's just my opinion at least.

Daredevil's rights return to Marvel in four days.
