Kevin Smith is Making an Animated 'Howard the Duck' Series for Hulu

Marvel Netflix may be signing off, but Marvel TV continues to trudge along with Hulu. Just in, the network will be working on several animated Marvel projects—one of them being based on Marvel's favorite talking duck.

According to Variety, Hulu is moving forward with a Howard the Duck series, and it will be written and executive produced by the likes of Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob) and Dave Willis. Smith is arguably the more famous of the two, but Willis did have a hand in co-creating Adult Swim classic Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Just imagine what kind of show these two will put together.

Here's a description for the plot of Howard the Duck:

In the series, Howard the Duck is trapped in a world he never made, but America's favorite fighting fowl hopes to return home with the help of his unstoppable gal pal Beverly before the evil Dr. Bong can turn him the crispiest dish on the menu.

Marvel comics had tried to reboot Howard the Duck back in 2015 but seems that this show will be based more on the original comic run with sidekick Beverly and the villain Doctor Bong who literally has a bell for a head.

I've always been a fan of how Smith writes comedy, and I can't wait to see what kind of show he has to bring to the table with Willis. You'd think that Marvel would put a stop to these properties coming out in different networks other than Disney, but I guess there's still a lot of potential when it comes to the more obscure characters.

No release date has been set for Hulu's Howard the Duck.
