Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was a surprise hit from back in 2017, and Sony is set to release the follow-up with this December's Jumanji: The Next Level. We don't have a new preview yet, but Karen Gillan has just shared a new poster with the four main cast members.
Though the cast is the same, only two of the characters from the original movie are coming back. One of them is Martha who is played by Karen Gillan, and the other is Fridge, who is now going to be played by Jack Black (the first movie had Kevin Hart play Fridge). As for the Rock, he's now being controlled by an old man played by Danny DeVito, and Kevin Hart is another old man played by Danny Glover.
I have to admit, Welcome to the Jungle didn't have the same horror vibes as the original, but people liked it enough that it earned a lot of money in the box office. Besides the character switch in The Next Level, I don't really know how they can change the story this time around, but I have a feeling they'll finally take a deleted plot point from the first film where the game becomes an app and the kids could sign in at their will whenever they wanted.
A team of friends return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own but discover that nothing is as they expect. The players need to brave parts unknown, from arid deserts to snowy mountains, in order to escape the world's most dangerous game.
Catch Jumanji: The Next Level in theaters Dec. 13.
