Jurassic Park's Sam Neill Shares Reunion Photo with Laura Dern

Jeff Goldblum's Ian Malcolm may have made a return in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but doctors Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler were nowhere to be seen. While we wait on news on whether Laura Dern or Sam Neill will return for the third Jurassic World, the two actually had a small reunion that Neill shared on his Twitter.

Check it out:

Out of all the legacy characters to return to the Jurassic franchise, it has admittedly been Ellie Sattler who has been cast in the sidelines. Malcolm got to shine in The Lost World, and Grant made a return to the spotlight with the third film.

Hopefully with this third movie, it will be Ellie's time to shine. Colin Trevorrow will be coming back to the helm this time around, and he did say in an interview last year that he felt "robbed" that Dern couldn't make an appearance. Trevorrow explained:

"We felt like [Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom] was Malcolm's return. This was his... let him have his moment. I feel that way about everyone, especially Laura [Dern], in that she never got to have her own movie. That identified as being something that's important. I feel like this moment with Goldblum, because he had this very clear set of ethical questions that he was able to pose for everyone, we just wanted to put the spotlight on him."

While Malcolm did see a return in the last film, he was really more of two bookends to the movie that presented the main theme of the story. While I would want to see Dern have a more prominent role this time around, I guess I can settle for a cameo akin to Goldblum's in the last movie.

Jurassic World 3 is set to come out June 11, 2021.
