Jojo Rabbit: Meet Scarlett Johansson's Frau Betzler in New Clip

Every Marvel fan may be excited for Black Widow and Thor 4, but this month will have Scarlett Johansson and Taika Waititi teaming up for Jojo Rabbit. The film is set to come out next week, and Fox Searchlight has released a clip of Johansson's Frau Betzler.

Check it out:

You can see that the scene actually features a good chunk of the film's characters. Besides Johansson, we also have Sam Rockwell, Alfie Allen, Rebel Wilson, and Roman Griffin Davis who plays the lead Jojo. We don't get to see Taika Waititi's Hitler, but it's likely he only appears in moments when Jojo is alone and talking to his imaginary friend.

The scene pretty much gives us a good idea of what kind of character Johansson's Betzler is, and you can see that she isn't really afraid of the Nazis at all. What's scary is the revelation that she is hiding a Jewish girl in her home, and it's curious how her rough attitude is going to stop the Nazis when they start knocking on her door.

Writer-director Taika Waititi (THOR: RAGNAROK, HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE), brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, JOJO RABBIT, a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy (Roman Griffin Davis as JoJo) whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi), Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.

Jojo Rabbit hits theaters Oct. 18.
