James Cameron’s Congratulations for Avengers: Endgame Mirrors George Lucas’ Message to Cameron

Avengers: Endgame has just surpassed the worldwide gross of Titanic, and any day it's going to beat Avatar for the highest grossing film of all time. James Cameron had sent out his congratulations for Endgame beating Titanic, but what's interesting is, George Lucas sent Cameron the same type of message when Titanic beat out Star Wars in the box office.

This was pointed out by Fandango's Erik Davis:

While I personally prefer the wackier message that Lucas sent, I'm starting to wonder if Cameron was thinking about this when he wrote his message for Endgame.

It's funny that he should congratulate the movie as well, because just a few days ago, Cameron was talking about his hopes that franchise fatigue would hit the audiences soon when it came to Avengers. Funny how this is coming from the person who basically helped push the sci-fi blockbuster genre with films like Aliens and, I don't know, Avatar.

For now, everyone is expecting Endgame to land the top spot before the month ends; and I could say the film definitely deserves it. It took us 11 years to get to this point, and the Russo Brothers have definitely delivered when it came to this movie. Nobody knows if any other film will be able to reach this kind of hype, but Endgame was definitely a huge milestone when it came to cinema.

Catch Avengers: Endgame in theaters today.
