Jack Black Would Like to Play Fantastic 4’s The Thing

Jack Black is a star on his own right, but he hasn't been able to be part of the box office giant that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During an interview with ScreenRant to promote the release of Jumanji: The Next Level, Black talks about who he would like to play should Marvel Studios give him the call.

When asked which MCU characters he would like to take on, Black says, "No. No one's coming to mind. Oh, it'd be fun to play like an evil dude, like the Kingpin. Yeah. I don't know. Maybe the Thing? It'd be rad to be that rock dude from the Fantastic Four."

Of course, this is just one of those small interview questions, and the Thing and the Kingpin are just characters off the top of Black's head. While I think he would be a fun Ben Grimm, I think Black is too wonderfully active to play someone as solid as a rock. Then again, they could always have the Thing be brought to life through motion capture, just like with Taika Waititi's Korg.

As or Kingpin, I'm sure a lot of fans would still want Vincent D'Onofrio to reprise the role from the Daredevil series.

This was my own silly fancast, but I would have loved to watch Jack Black play the new Wolverine. He's short and active, and maybe Black could bring some fun to the role. Then again, it would probably be a nightmare for Black to have to lose all that weight. Maybe he can be Beast?

For now, you can catch Black in Jumanji: The Next Level which comes out on Dec.13.
