Jack Black Recreates Pitfall Commercial for Jumanji: The Next Level

Jack Black has had a very seasoned TV career, and some fans of his may know that his first TV job was starring in a commercial for the game Pitfall. What's interesting is, Black has recreated that commercial to help hype up the release of his latest movie Jumanji: The Next Level.

Just in case you're curious, here's the original commercial with a 13-year-old Black:

It's funny that his Jumanji character is wearing the same hat, seeing as the 13-year-old Black was wearing the same thing in his commercial. I wonder if that was deliberate or just a fun coincidence.

For now, Jumanji: The Next Level is getting the same amount of enthusiasm that people got from Welcome to the Jungle. There haven't really been any special performances pointed out, but I guess if the movie was aiming to be a fun romp for kids, then it's already done its job.

If anything, Jumanji: The Next Level was smart enough to release before Star Wars, since I'm sure that movie will be taking over cinemas by the time it hits theaters. It's actually still kind of a mystery to me on how the first Jumanji reboot was able to do so well; I guess it was a fun film for people who weren't so keen on Star Wars, but personally I still thought that the original Jumanji with Robin Williams had a very unique spirit that Welcome to the Jungle wasn't able to replicate.

Catch Jumanji: The Next Level now in theaters.
