It’s Time to Assemble in New CG Trailer for Square Enix’s Avengers

Fresh off the BETA last weekend, Square Enix is now gearing up for the release of their big Avengers game next month. Just in, we have a new CG spot for A-Day, and it actually features Captain America standing with the heroes this time.

While the earlier trailers have put an emphasis on the story of Avengers: A-Day, this new CG trailer looks to be focusing more on the gameplay element. While Captain America is said to be dead in the game, you still get to take control of him during the beginning, so it's likely that he's definitely alive and will be playable down the line of the campaign.

Admittedly I wasn't that wowed by the BETA, but the gameplay for the characters feels pretty solid. It kind of reminds me of Spider-Man PS4 the way the characters have special moves that you can upgrade as you play. Each hero actually comes with a different play style which I think is distinct enough; I just hope there are more levels in the actual game that don't just consist of hallways where you beat up robots.

Marvel's Avengers is an epic, third-person, action-adventure game that combines an original, cinematic story with single-player and co-operative gameplay*. Assemble into a team of up to four players online, master extraordinary abilities, customize a growing roster of Heroes, and defend the Earth from escalating threats.

Avengers: A-Day launches on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Sept. 4.
