Is Star Wars: Republic Commando Getting a Remake?

Though Star Wars video games may be sparse today, a lot of great games had come out during the time of Lucasarts. What's interesting is, we could be looking at a remake of one of the most celebrated games from that era—Star Wars: Republic Commando.

As pointed out by Cinelinx's Jordan Maison, composer Jeff Harlin, who had written Vode An for Republic Commando has said that he had scored a Star Wars project over the summer. We don't know what project he's talking about, but what are the odds it's going to be a remake of the RC?

Though EA had basically squandered its rights with the Star Wars IP, they are promising to come up with more games down the line. Besides the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, we did get Star Wars: Squadrons last month. We're also getting a full reboot of LEGO Star Wars with The SkywalkerSaga.

Then again, maybe Harlin isn't even working on a game at all. Maybe they just decided to bring back the score for The Mandalorian Season 2. With word going around that clone commander Captain Rex is going to be making an appearance, it would be cool if they made Vode An his theme when he's introduced. By this time, he should be working for the Rebel Alliance along with Ahsoka Tano—who is also said to be appearing this season.

Until we get some official announcement, all we can really do is wait. In the meantime, catch The Mandalorian Season 2 now on Disney+.
