Is Lando’s Assistant Lobot Going to be in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker?

We all know that Lando Calrissian will be making a return in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but there could be another Empire Strikes Back character returning for the film. A closer look at the Vanity Fair photo of Lando reveals he's wearing his old wrist communicator. Could that mean Lobot is coming back?

Check this out:

Of course, we haven't seen Lobot since Empire, so it's possible that Lando's officially done working with the cybernetic human. Actor John Hollis also died back in 2005. At best, the comm is just a neat throwback, but it doesn't necessarily mean that Lobot will be making a return.

If anything, I'm more emotionally invested to see Lando pilot the Falcon after Solo: A Star Wars Story. We know that he had some feelings for L3-37 who became part of the ship. I'm sure it would be emotional if we saw Lando at the controls and start talking to the Falcon like he talked to L3.

For now, it's said that Lando's role in TROS will be as small as Maz Kanata's, but I'm kind of hoping for something more. With Lando being an important legacy character, surely J.J. Abrams has something planned to end his character arc meaningfully.

Catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters Dec. 20.
