Han Solo Pilots an X-Wing in Latest Star Wars Comic

The great thing about the Star Wars expanded universe is that it could always bring in situations that fanboys would never expect to happen in the movies. The latest issue of Star Wars just had Han Solo strapping into an X-Wing flight suit and leading the charge with Rogue Squadron.

Check out these panels:

If you're wondering where the Falcon is, it's actually been disabled heavily after a bout with Darth Vader. At least with this comic, we actually get to see Han's mettle when it comes to flying a ship all by himself—something we didn't really get to see in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

What's also cool is, Han gets to pilot the X-Wing with R2-D2 as his astro droid.

Add to that, this comic is actually the first that has the main trio all flying ships in the air. Leia herself sneaks aboard an Imperial cruiser and steals a TIE Fighter. Then she goes off to fly right next to Han and Luke.

Though I would have loved to see a moment like this happen in the big screen, it may be too much of a stretch now—lucky there's the comic to fulfill any other fanboy fantasy we have. Besides Han piloting a T-65, we also get moments like a young Leia and Luke on Crait or Han proving himself a better pilot than Vader.

Star Wars #55 is now available to read.
