HBO Offering Watchmen Series for FREE This Weekend

Probably one of the most underrated gems to come out of 2019 was HBO's Watchmen from Damon Lindelof, and with the series' heavy themes on racism and power, it's probably one of the more relevant shows right now. What's great is, HBO agrees, and they're offering the show to watch for free this month.

According to The Wrap, you'll be able to watch all nine episodes of Watchmen on HBO.com from June 19–21. HBO is doing so "as an extension of the network's content offering highlighting Black experiences, voices and storytellers." They also added, "HBO is proud to offer all nine episodes for free of this timely, poignant series that explores the legacy of systemic racism in America."

What's more, the network is also planning a marathon of the series on HBO and HBO Latino starting at 1 p.m. on Friday. This move was also done to commemorate Juneteenth, the day on 1865 where enslaved people on Texas were declared free.

I mean, the show even opens with the Tulas Race Massacre, an actual historic event:

In the light of all these #BlackLivesMatter protests, no series is as relevant as HBO's Watchmen right now. Catch it on HBO.com for free from June 19–21.
