Giancarlo Esposito, Werner Herzog, and More Announced for Star Wars: The Mandalorian

Jon Favreau is currently working on the first Star Wars live-action series, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and the series will be one of the first to come to Disney's streaming service, Disney+. Just in, Lucasfilm has announced the rest of the cast members in the movie who will be joining Pedro Pascal's lone gunfighter.

As per StarWars.com, the new cast members of the show include the likes of Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Gina Carano (Deadpool), Carl Weathers (Predator), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), Nick Nolte (Affliction), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), and Omid Abtahi (American Gods).

We don't have any specifics to who these actors will be playing or how large their roles are, but Favraeu did have this to say about working with the cast: "We're having a great time working with this incredibly talented group and excited for everyone to see what we're up to."

With Star Wars being such a huge brand for Disney, I'm curious what kind of show we should expect The Mandalorian to be. I admit they have gathered an amazing cast, but that can only take the show so far. With a budget comparable to the final season of Game of Thrones, Disney better brings their A-game when it comes to this series. Otherwise, why else would I try out Disney+?

Star Wars: The Mandalorian has no set release date yet, but we should be able to catch it sometime late next year on Disney's streaming service.
