Game of Thrones Season 8: This Simple Edit Would Have Made Daenerys' Turn Make More Sense

One of the most complained about elements of the latest episode of Game of Thrones is Daenerys going crazy and murdering innocents in King's Landing even after the city has surrendered. While a lot of fans think this change in character is un-earned, Angelika Chessborn on Twitter has come up with this edit that would have made the scene make more sense.

The edit is simple; it basically flashes back to all the scenes that helped contribute to Daenerys' descent into madness. While I don't think this would have completely justified Dany's genocide, it would have made more sense compared to the scene that we got in the final cut.

If anything, the main complaint of the fans was that the show is moving too fast to make sense of Dany's actions in the series. We had seven seasons to build up her character, and they just spent the last five episodes tearing her down. It would have been an interesting twist, definitely, but at the pace the show is going, it just feels like we're rushing toward the end.

Right now there are fans petitioning that HBO cancel the finale and give us more episodes, but sadly, that's not how television works. I mean, sure maybe fans can influence the change of design for the Sonic movie, but you're talking about millions of dollars already spent on this final season of a show.

The best option we have right now is to just wait for George R.R. Martin's final A Song of Ice and Fire books, but who knows when those are ever going to come out?

Catch the final episode of Game of Thrones 8 on HBO when it airs Sunday night.
