The finale episode of Game of Thrones had almost all the major players of the show in one room, with Cersei meeting Daenerys Targaryen for the first time. Seeing that Dany poses such a huge threat to Cersei, actress Lena Headey shares her thoughts on what was going through Cersei's mind when she first sees the dragon queen.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Headey says:
"I think she's immediately envious because Daenerys is more beautiful and younger than she is and the prophecy says somebody younger and more beautiful will take her place so I'm sure that's at the forefront of her mind… And Tyrion is her Hand, so she couldn't be any worse."
Going back to the prophecy, almost everything has come true for Cersei, including the death of her children. There's also a mention that she will only stop at three kids, so I'm guessing that her pregnancy is not going to result to anything. Here's the prophecy:
"You'll never wed the prince. You'll wed a king … You'll be queen. For a time. Then comes another — younger, more beautiful — to cast you down and take all that you hold dear … The king will have 20 children, you'll have three. Gold will be their crowns; gold their shrouds."
As for the Cersei lying to her new "allies," Headey knows exactly what the fans are thinking, now that we know that Cersei had no intention of helping despite the consequences.
"I think her lie will be very shocking…She's such a bitch. She's so unforgiving of everybody."
Game of Thrones 7 may be over for now, but hopefully we get to see everything unfold when season 8 comes out in 2018 or 2019.
