GOTG’s James Gunn Shares Round Table Photo of Him With Other Big MCU Directors

James Gunn may be working on The Suicide Squad now, but he's set to make a Marvel comeback soon after he wraps filming for his DCEU film. Just in, he's shared this neat picture of himself among other MCU directors around the time Infinity War was shooting.

From left to right you have Anthony Russo (Infinity War), Peyton Reed (Ant-Man), Joe Russo (Infinity War), Jon Favreau (Iron Man), Ryan Coogler (Black Panther), Gunn himself, and Joss Whedon (Avengers). It's not all the MCU directors, but they're handling some of the biggest films in the franchise. If anything, they probably shot this to commemorate the MCU lasting for 10 years.

For now, it looks like only half the directors in the photo still have projects with Marvel. Gunn is set to come back for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with Coogler set to make Black Panther 2. A third Ant-Man film hasn't been announced, but it's likely that Peyton Reed will be making a comeback.

Other directors with upcoming films not in the photo include Taika Waititi (Thor: Love and Thunder), Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange 2), Cate Shortland (Black Widow), Chloe Zhao (Eternals), and Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi).

While the MCU looks to have the next two years planned out, I'm honestly feeling weary about what comes next. Besides Thor, the MCU has just lost two of its biggest players (three if you count Spider-Man). Hopefully, fans will still be up for this whole new roster of heroes moving forward.

Catch Black Widow when it comes out on May 1, 2020.
