One of the mid-credits scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was the arrival of Adam Warlock, and his appearance has been held off for the third movie. We don’t know who Marvel will cast to play Adam, but BossLogic has made this mock-up of what Zac Efron could look like as the character.
Check it out:
Haven't done a rumour casting in awhile, starting to hear Adam Warlock @ZacEfron talk so I thought this would be a fun way to get back into it :D hope you like it. #guardiansofthegalaxy @JamesGunn pic.twitter.com/6CdLMb3yB7— BossLogic (@Bosslogic) May 15, 2019
With Guardians having a big emphasis on humor, I think Efron might actually be a great piece of casting. We know he has the looks, but based on his recent work with Neighbors and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, he also has a good knack for comedy. Though I think he is a tad short, maybe the film can actually just tease the character about it, seeing as Adam is being teased as the perfect being.
Originally, Adam was supposed to be in the second film, and he’s the one sent by the Sovereign to try and apprehend the Guardians. The concept was scrapped though, and it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer for him to appear. So much for the guy who was instrumental in beating Thanos in the comics.
For now, James Gunn is working on The Suicide Squad and is set to return to the production of Guardians 3 next year. With that in mind, we could see the release of the film sometime in 2021 or 2022.
Catch the Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers: Endgame which is now in theaters.
