First Look at Disney Junior's The Rocketeer Series

The Rocketeer was a cult classic film from the 90s that was inspired by a comic that came out in the 30s. Now Disney is planning to reboot the series for kids, and we have our first look at Disney Junior's animated The Rocketeer series.

As per Variety, The Rocketeer was announced alongside upcoming Disney shows like Vikingskool and The Owl House.

This version of The Rocketeer is said to be targeted at the 2–5-year-old audience and will ‘depart substantially' from the original source material. This time around, the story will focus on a young girl named Kit who inherits the legendary jetpack and is given the responsibility to be the next Rocketeer. Along for the ride is her gadget-minded best friend named Tesh, as well as her Uncle Ambrose who is an airplane mechanic.

I can already imagine that some people who are fans of The Rocketeer will be scoffing at the reboot, but I don't think they should take the hit too hard since the show is aimed for little kids. Besides, there's still plenty of room for a more mature reboot.

The Rocketeer comes to Disney Junior sometime in 2019.
