Family Guy Season 17 Finale Pays Tribute to the Late Adam West

With June approaching, it would have been two years since we lost Batman actor Adam West. West actually had a recurring role as the crazy mayor in Family Guy, and with the Season 17 finale, they decided to make one more tribute to West in the series.

In the episode, Brian tries to campaign for mayor following the absence of Mayor West, and he annoyingly finds himself competing with Quagmire.

The show has now decided to rename the Quahog high school from James Woods High to Adam West High—only fitting since the show itself has also started to show its reservations to the actual James Woods. I guess it's a way to keep West's legacy on the show, even with him being gone.

With the mayor seat left empty, maybe they can even have West's co-star Burt Ward (Robin) take over? Or maybe they can find another actor who was once a lead of a cult show. You think William Shatner would be up for it?

With The Simpsons being able to go up to 30 seasons, I'm not expecting any less from Family Guy. The show has always managed to stay relevant until now, and I expect Seth MacFarlane and his team to keep beating on that horse for many more years to come. At least now we know, though West is gone, he lives on in the show in his own little way.

No release date has been set for Family Guy 18.
