Ewan McGregor Excited to be Back in His Jedi Robes for Kenobi Series

Besides The Mandalorian, Disney+ has been working on several other Star Wars series, one focusing on everyone's favorite Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ewan McGregor is set to reprise the role, and he expresses his excitement in getting back in his old Jedi robes.

Talking to the Happy Sad Confused podcast (via The Direct), McGregor explains, "I walked into the dressing room. There were my beige cloaks and my belts and boots...It was my old costume. It was amazing!"

While some are significantly bummed that Obi-Wan's return won't be on the big screen, McGregor is very positive when it comes to tackling a TV series instead of a film. He continues:

"I'm very excited- I really am very excited about it... We've been talking about doing (the series) for four, five, maybe more years... I'm excited about the fact that it's a series as opposed to a movie. It gives us more space. And I'm mainly excited because of The Mandalorian series which I thought was really good. We're gonna adopt some of that technology that they utilized in that filming. And I'm working with Deborah Chow who directed some of Mandalorian and I'm really excited about working with her."

We don't really have a full synopsis of the show, but we do know that the Kenobi series will follow Obi-Wan between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. While this hasn't been officially confirmed, the series is said to also feature Darth Vader, who is on the hunt for Obi-Wan and other Jedi. Hopefully, we get one more clash in the story before McGregor says good-bye to the role again.

No release date has been set for the Kenobi mini-series, but it's expected to come out sometime in 2022. In the meantime, you can catch The Mandalorian Season 2 when it debuts on Disney+ this Oct. 30.
