Drag Queens Meet Superheroes in Trailer for Netflix's Super Drags

Netflix may have cancelled Iron Fist and Daredevil, but that doesn't mean they're done with supeheroes. Just in, they've dropped a new trailer for this series called Super Drags.

Here's the official description:

Three queens serve fierce looks and take on evil. Whether they're facing a shady customer, or outright bigotry, these queens are ready to spread their glitter and twerk away the shade.

The series was said to have originated in Brazil, and the first season is set to run for five episodes. Interestingly enough, the English translation for the show will be porting over voice actors from RuPaul's Drag Race—specifically Trixie Mattel, Shangela, Willam, and Ginger Minj.

Like the trailer suggests, the show is going to be on the more mature side. I also won't doubt that there's going to be some modern-day allegory sprinkled into the show here and there. It's said that one of the main villains of the show is a ‘conservative politician.' Other than that, I think it's going to be a fun animated series for anyone who's a fan of the drag scene.

Personally, when I look at it, it kind of feels like Powerpuff Girls only the girls are men in drag. I think the color palette is also an interesting choice, like something out of Steven Universe. With a show being all about fashion and style, you would expect Super Drags to have a lot of color and costume changes.

Super Drags comes to Netflix on Nov. 9.
